What is in it

The wings are drawn as a fine cell structure, like leaded glass, and they cover most of each page. Bodies are narrow and segmented. Around a third of the designs sit among reeds or over water, which fills the corners.

How it colours

The wing cells suit a light, translucent treatment — watercolour pencils do something here that nothing else in the series allows. Not a book for heavy saturated colour.
